Job Description: |
Engage in new product and component strategies to ensure vehicle meet ETWC target; set weight target for all functional areas of vehicle including body, chassis, powertrain, electrical and climate control; develop AVBOM weight status for different control models by interacting with C3P NG, design and release engineering, vehicle engineering; participate in engineering change control using WERS; review/challenge styling surface themes which result in excess material in castings which increase cost and weight; develop and manage weight reduction work for vehicles which are above weight target; analyze and calculate center of gravity, static stability factor of vehicle using VisMockup and ADAMS model from vehicle dynamics; plan and schedule VIMF test for determining center of gravity and moment of inertia of each vehicle; support automotive safety office to provide data for rollover for responsible vehicle line; and analyze and calculate gross vehicle weight and gross axle weight ratings to certify vehicle for maximum loading capacity of the axles which are crucial to safety. Req’s. Master's in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering or its foreign educational equivalent plus 1 year experience in the job offered or 1 year experience in an alternate occupation as a Design Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Engineer or Project Trainee.
